EDUCATION FOUNDATION LAUNCHES APPRECIATION CAMPAIGN FOR SD2 EDUCATORS
The Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools, along with an eager contingent of community volunteers and donors, has launched an Educator Appreciation campaign for School District 2.
“Educators throughout the District have been through so much over the last two years,” explained Kelly McCandless, Executive Director of the Education Foundation. “Burn out is high and yet they continue to show up daily, pouring into our students. They deserve recognition and support.”
To drive encouragement and inspire continued resilience, the campaign launched by sending thank you notes sent to every educator and support staff member in the District, including beautiful student art and a message of thanks from the community and the Foundation. The campaign will last through the end of the school year and includes one gesture of thanks and appreciation each month.
“We recognize our teachers are undergoing the greatest teaching challenges of their professional careers. Businesses and community members want to express their gratitude,” said Kelly Edwards, Foundation Board Member and campaign leader. “This campaign is a grassroots response to that desire.”
Monthly appreciation will be shown through treats and coffee in teachers’ lounges, notes from students and community members, small gifts, as well as bigger prizes offered through random drawing. We’re actively seeking donations, both cash and material, so we can enhance our offering.
Community members, students, administrators - everyone can participate. If a donation is out of reach, we’ve created a space where a note can be shared and will be passed on to the educator selected. We want everyone to get involved.
