- Outgoing and very comfortable with children
- Professional attitude
- Strong oral communication skills
- Demonstrate initiative
- Must submit to background check
- Must be able to drive to/from program locations at parks and schools
- Must be available mid-day, Monday through Thursday (with flexibility for days off)

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under direction of Program Director, the Program Coordinator's responsibility is to organize and initiate literacy activities for children participating in the free lunch program in the parks.
- Schedule area organizations to perform literacy-related activities
- Assist with coordinating volunteers
- Lead daily operations of Reading Rocks
- Help publicize and promote Reading Rocks
- Read with children
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
Administrative Work
- As time allows, employee assists with organizing Saturday Live, an all-school carnival in September, and with other Foundation administrative tasks.
Social Media
- Employee will help to develop social media marketing opportunities for the Foundation and its various programs; this includes web design, Facebook, Instagram, on-line newsletters, etc.
Salary:
- $14 to $17.50 per hour, approximately 20 hours per week for 10 weeks
- Roughly from early June through early August
- Hours are somewhat flexible, the Foundation will work with you on scheduling
