reading rocks 2024
June 12th - July 25th
12:15 to 1:00
Thursday Evening: 5:15 to 6:00 pm
Reading Rocks provides reading activities for seven weeks during the summer in conjunction with the School District II's Free Lunch in the Parks, a program that serves over 50,000 free lunches during the course of the summer. Reading Rocks is designed to help students continue reading over the summer when reading levels are known to drop. Reading Rocks provides children with free books, reading mentorship, and story telling by community leaders to keep children engaged in reading while away from school.
